WORKING HOURS: Part-time on a flexible predetermined schedule (preference for those whose availability includes either Saturday or Sunday)

We are looking for content writers to produce high-quality content either for our suite of sites or for our Business-to-Business clients. Our preference is for those who have previous content writing experience as freelancers (e.g. Upwork, Fiverr, etc.), or anyone who enjoys researching and writing content on a variety of subjects.

No experience is needed but you must have an interest in writing and must be a willing and fast learner.

This is a remote-work opportunity. You will be working closely with and reporting to an individual digitally.


We are looking for content writers for all niches. However, preference will be given to those who have knowledge (e.g. through practical work or from school or self-taught) in the following niches/areas:

  • Sewing.
  • Accounting and Finance.
  • Food/Cooking/Recipe.
  • Insurance.
  • Home Organization.
  • Study/Immigrate/Travel to Canada.
  • Technology/Computer.
  • Pet.
  • Leisure/Sport .e.g. biking, skateboarding, etc.
  • Female Fashion.
  • Travel to and from Africa.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Research assigned topics, come up with a unique title/headline that gets readers hooked, and create a content outline. You’ll be given strict templates to use, unless stated otherwise.
  • Write Search Engine Optimized (SEO), plagiarism free articles/blog posts as a subject-matter expert on assigned topics. We will screen your article using a plagiarism software to prevent any copyright violation.
  • Edit or rewrite existing content to meet marketing objectives.
  • Source relevant royalty free visuals (e.g. image, tables, graphs, screenshots/charts, infographic, YouTube video, slideshow, etc.) to include to your article.
  • Upload and optimize articles on website using a WordPress theme page builder (e.g. Gutenberg or Classic editor).
  • Perform any other specific or ad-hoc duty to be assigned from time to time
NOTE: Previous experience is NOT required, as you’ll be trained and given resources to assist you along the way. You will ghostwrite articles and therefore you will not be specifically credited nor will your written articles be attributable to you.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE – COMPULSORY (Please do NOT apply if you do not meet the following requirements):

Job Requirements:

  • Interest in long-term content writing work.
  • Ability to paraphrase/summarize written content in professional English. You will be expected to complete a writing exercise if short-listed.
  • Proven ability to use a variety of productivity software including Google Docs, Google Sheet, Task Management software (e.g. Trello, SmartTask, etc.), and other work-related tools.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Detail-oriented and a fast learner.
  • Ability to use initiative and the originality of your work.
  • Great work ethics to ensure that projects are completed on schedule.

Hardware Requirements:

  • Computer Requirement: As this is a remote-work opportunity, you are expected to have your own personal computer (either a laptop or desktop computer) to get the job done.
  • Internet Requirements: As you have to be constantly connected to the team through digital tools, you must have your own high-speed/reliable internet (wifi connection).
  • Phone Requirements: Similarly, you are expected to have a functioning mobile phone with WhatsApp capabilities and should be reachable by phone during an agreed predetermined time.

NICE TO HAVE (Not Compulsory)

  • 1+ years of content writing experience.
  • Knowledge of blogging best practices, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and/or copywriting.
  • Experience in optimizing content on self-hosted WordPress (i.e. wordpress.org) will be a major plus.

WHAT YOU’LL GET:

  • Remuneration: You will be paid (bi-weekly or monthly) based on either the number of articles you are able to write or the number of word count of the articles you write. The budget for this role is currently ₦27,000 – ₦65,000 per month.
  • Bonus: Up to 20% bonus paid every 6 months for milestone achievements (per self-evaluation and our assessment).
  • The opportunity to work from anywhere. As this is a remote-work opportunity. You will have the flexibility and freedom to work from your own home or from anywhere, as long as you can keep in touch with digital tools such as Whatsapp, Google Meet, Zoom, etc.
